Am deschis un showroom pastelat in incinta salonului pe care il detin in Dimitrie Onciu 33 (Kaya Studio), unde creatiile si-au gasit un loc al lor.
Am primit zambete, aprecieri precum si vizite din partea unor unor oameni din mediul cultural de la noi spre care am ales sa ma indrept in ultima vreme: actrite, fotografi, modele, vechi prietene si cliente.
L-am cunoscut in cautarile mele inspirationale pe Adrian Anechitoaie, fotograf freelancer, pur si simplu din intamplare. Adrian m-a atras prin felul de a percepe esentele: simplu si natural.. mult asemanator mie. Si de a reusi sa dea viata unei atmosfere in jurul creatiilor mele vestimentare.
Perfect week-end getaway
I recently found a marvelous place, safe from the city rush. It reminded me once more that I live in a beautiful country – great landscapes, warm people and lovely surprises.
Let me tell you a story about the Apafi Manor in Malancrav, a small village near Sibiu. As a light gossip, you should know that Prince Charles actually owns a property just near the manor and it’s rumored that William and Kate spent a short holiday here.
The Manor was built by the Hungarian princely family, Apafi, probably in the 15th century. It is most unusual to have a manor house in a Saxon village - Malancrav and only two or three other villages were governed by Hungarians. The result is a spectacular architecture, pretty uncommon in Romania.
Another unusual thing is the existence of all the details of the evolution of the house and even its inventory from various periods in Budapest, making it possible to be entirely restored.
Last 50 years have been heavy for the manor, as it was seized by the communist authorities, turned into a community centre and later on abandoned. After a while it was bought and fully restored by the Mihai Eminescu Trust and now it’s open for the public, as a guesthouse.
A few years ago I used to work in interior design and I can only imagine how great one must feel to work on a project of this scale.
That being said, I’m leaving you with a few pictures and a desire to elope!
Fashion street style featuring Alina Petcan
Surfing the web I came across a photo with a lovely lady wearing a t-shirt from the collection. It’s a remixed Tamara de Lempicka painting. She’s actually one of my favorite artists, a true visionary and the great lady of the Art Deco period.
I love the fact that, despite her wealthy polish family, she found her own way – she was the first woman artist to be a true glamour star. With a scandalous public life and friends like Picasso and Jean Cocteau, Paris was her playground. Her affairs and the arguable decisions she made never interfered with her art, which was always highly appreciated. Pff, I wish today was the same…
Without further ado, I shout out loud: “Go girls!”
